We have a Strange Rover 2 built by Alvin Smith and Raced in the Plaines and Valleys Race in France where I think it came 4th. And many all wheel Drive club events where it was extremely competitive. There are several videos of the Plaines and Valleys race featuring Alvin Smith and the British contingent. Including the early Hill Rallies etc.
We entered several of the Southern and Welsh Hill Rallies with many hours of fun, It is a great solid comfortable drive. We had a Paul Nash Tuned 3.5 Rover engine fitted which runs really well. It has twin shock absorbers all round. Ian Ashcroft uprated half shafts. Five speed gearbox with high and low range, central locking diff.
It was even in an opening shot on one of the Top Gear programs featuring the Southern Hill Rally. After several years of standing we have resurrected it. It starts beautifully on the button. Last used on the Kop Hill Climb local to us which was a fun day. It is a absolute classic vehicle of the 80s off road racing scene and still in a condition to be raced or add to some ones classic vehicle collection.
Still being totally road legal. Comes with spare parts, including half shafts, Diffs, Drag links shock absorbers etc.
